Knowledge of Technology:

The teacher is skilled in technology and is knowledgeable about using technology to support instruction and enhance student learning.
The teacher has demonstrated the ability to:

7.1 Apply technology to the delivery of standards-based instruction.
I have met this standard by creating a WebQuest site. The WebQuest that I created dealt with fractions and averages in math. I designed it to follow Colorado Math standards for 6th graders. It can be used for higher education students by adding additional features to the curriculum. By having the knowledge to create a Webquest, I have the ability to apply technology to the delivery of standards-based instruction.
7.2 Use technology to increase student achievement.
By the creating a Smart Board presentation I have met this criteria. With the interactive features the Smart Board allows, kids can become more interested in the material by participation. This in turn helps them further their knowledge and at the same time making learning fun. With the knowledge of how to use a Smart Board I have met these standards to integrate technology in the classroom to increase student acheivement.
7.3 Utilize technology to manage and communicate information.
With the use of Web 2.0 features and podcasts I have met this standard. With the use of podcasts I can record lessons that can be accessed from either home or at school. If a student wanted to catch up on a day they missed the podcast from that day would help with anything he/she missed. Therefore, I have the ability to utilize technology to mangage and communicate information.
7.4 Apply technology to data-driven assessments of learning.
I have met this criteria by creating my rubric for Webquest. I have implemented ways to find the data needed to complete the assignment. I researched websites that would become useful in finding data that they will need. By including this I have met the standards to apply technology to data-driven assessmetns of learning.
7.5 Instruct students in basic technology skills.

With the use of Webquest and SMART Notebook I have the ability to instruct students in basic technology skills. A SMART Board educates kids by allowing them to learn about math interactively with the use technology. My webquest also requires students to use basic technology skills by using a computer and finding informatioin on the world wide web. There are many more ways to educate kids through technology such as websites found online to have kids practice more math problems, but these two examples work well in the classroom as well.
